“Police Bust: Arrests Made After Seaside Drug Seizure”

Two men, aged 35 and 41, have been arrested after police conducted a stop and search on a vehicle along the Natabua seaside. During the search, dried leaves suspected to be marijuana were discovered. Additionally, several syringes and zip-lock bags were confiscated.

The suspects have been taken into custody as investigations proceed.

Assistant Commissioner of Police – Operations, Livai Driu, stated that Police K9 capabilities, supported by the Fiji Police Detector Dog Unit, are frequently deployed to assist with both special and routine operations. According to ACP Driu, these snap checks aim not only to target drugs but also to help in detecting other crimes.

He expressed gratitude for the assistance from supporting agencies such as the Fiji Revenue and Customs Service and the New Zealand Police, highlighting a shared commitment to keeping the nation and region safe from criminal threats.
