Police Boxing Team Dominates Day One of Sukuna Bowl!

The Police boxing team had an impressive start at the Sukuna Bowl Boxing competition, securing victory in seven out of the 11 bouts held on the opening day at the LICI Court in Suva on Tuesday. The team’s captain, Jone Davule, who is also a national representative in amateur boxing, set the tone with a solid performance, winning his match against Army’s Pita Nasowaqa by points.

In the lightweight category, Petero Vunivalu showcased his skills, overcoming Army’s Ratu Kelevi Mawi. Meanwhile, Army’s Samuela Naqari earned a victory in the 80 to 86kg weight class by defeating Jone Tuitabu. The Army team also celebrated wins from their boxers Rusiate Qalo, Noa Yabakidrau, and Meli Nailumu.

Excitement builds as the competition continues today, culminating in the finals where boxing enthusiasts can expect more thrilling matches.
