Police Boxing Team Dominates Day One of Sukuna Bowl!

The Police boxing team showcased a strong performance on the first day of the Sukuna Bowl Boxing competition at the LICI Court in Suva, securing victory in seven out of eleven matches. Leading the charge was National Amateur Boxing representative Jone Davule, who set a high standard as he won his debut match against Army’s Pita Nasowaqa by points.

In the lightweight division, Petero Vunivalu also brought home a win, defeating Army’s Ratu Kelevi Mawi. However, it wasn’t all smooth sailing for the Police, as Army’s Samuela Naqari managed to overcome Jone Tuitabu in the 80 to 86 kg category. The Army team had additional wins with successes from Rusiate Qalo, Noa Yabakidrau, and Meli Nailumu.

The excitement continues as the competition moves into its finals today, promising to deliver more thrilling matches and showcase the talents of these dedicated athletes.
