PNG Shocks Fiji in Beach Soccer Debut

In a surprising result at the OFC Beach Soccer Men’s Nations Cup, Papua New Guinea achieved a stunning 8-6 victory over Fiji in their inaugural international match.

Despite Fiji being favored to win their opening game, Papua New Guinea delivered an impressive performance. Fiji’s six goals came from Adriu Nabose, an own goal, Steven Dean, Navu Willie, and Rajneel Singh. The team, however, was without key players, including captain Tevita Waranivalu and Madhwan Gounder, who arrived late in Honiara.

Upcoming fixtures include Fiji facing Tahiti at 2 PM and the Solomon Islands meeting Papua New Guinea at 4 PM. The following day, Papua New Guinea will play against Tahiti at 2 PM, while the Solomon Islands will take on Fiji at 4 PM. The tournament will conclude with a third-place match on Friday at 2 PM, followed by the final at 4 PM.
