Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka made a surprise visit to former parliamentarian Salote Radrodro at her home in Namulomulo, Nabouwalu, Bua, yesterday. This outreach came as an unexpected gesture, highlighting the Prime Minister’s commitment to maintaining connections with former leaders.

During his visit, Mr. Rabuka took the opportunity to learn more about the operations of the copra industry, a crucial sector for many in the region. Notably, this was the first time he visited Ms. Radrodro’s home following her release from prison in September.

Mr. Rabuka’s visit coincided with his tour of key sites associated with the China Aid Vanua Levu Road Development Project, indicating a broader agenda that combines personal outreach with important infrastructural developments.

Ms. Radrodro’s son, Alipate Radrodro, expressed gratitude towards the Prime Minister for his visit, noting the family had previously interacted with him shortly before the New Year. He mentioned their hopes for a safe and prosperous New Year and expressed well wishes for 2025.

The family was pleasantly surprised by the Prime Minister’s visit, which occurred after a church service. Ms. Radrodro herself extended her best wishes to Mr. Rabuka and his Coalition Government for the upcoming year.

This visit underscores the importance of communication and relationships within political spheres, demonstrating that leaders are willing to engage with individuals from various walks of life. It also reflects a sense of continuity in governance and community involvement as the new year approaches.

In summary, Mr. Rabuka’s visit symbolizes a positive approach towards collaboration between government officials and former representatives, fostering hope for a more united future.
