Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka made a remarkable visit to former parliamentarian Salote Radrodro at her home in Namulomulo, Nabouwalu, Bua, yesterday. This unexpected visit was significant not only as a personal gesture but also as an opportunity for Mr. Rabuka to gain insights into the copra industry and its workings.

This occasion marked the first visit to Ms. Radrodro’s residence since her release from prison in September. During his tour of important sites related to the China Aid Vanua Levu Road Development Project, the Prime Minister made a stop to meet with Ms. Radrodro.

Her son, Alipate Radrodro, expressed gratitude for the visit, noting the chance for the family to engage with the Prime Minister shortly before New Year. He shared hopes for a safe transition into the New Year and the year 2025. The family was pleasantly surprised by the Prime Minister’s appearance following a church service.

Ms. Radrodro extended her best wishes to the Prime Minister and the Coalition Government for the upcoming New Year.

This visit reflects the importance of personal connections in politics and demonstrates the Prime Minister’s commitment to understanding the local industry and community dynamics. Such engagements can foster goodwill and strengthen relationships between leaders and constituents, which is crucial for collaborative progress.

In essence, this visit not only signifies a hopeful step towards community engagement but also highlights the potential for enhanced dialogue and support for local industries as the country moves forward.
