Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka has announced that he will be reassessing his ministerial responsibilities in the upcoming year due to the overwhelming nature of his current workload. At the age of 76, Rabuka is currently managing a wide array of portfolios, including Foreign Affairs, Climate Change, Civil Service, Public Enterprises, Police, and Immigration.
Recognizing the challenges posed by such extensive responsibilities, the Prime Minister expressed that the demands have taken a toll on him, leading to late nights spent reviewing ministerial files. He emphasized that by redistributing some of these portfolios, he believes he will be better positioned to lead effectively.
This decision illustrates Rabuka’s commitment to ensuring that his leadership remains strong and adaptable in the face of significant demands. As he seeks to streamline his responsibilities, there is hope that this reorganization will result in a more efficient government and improved governance for the people of Fiji. The prospect of renewed focus on key issues could foster a more productive and responsive administration in the new year.
