Planned Power Shutdown: What You Need to Know!

Energy Fiji Limited has announced a scheduled power outage today, 25 November, to perform critical maintenance on power lines. The outage will take place in several regions, depending on weather conditions.

In Labasa, residents can expect power interruptions from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Affected areas include Naduna, Nagigi No.11, Nagigi Primary School, and Waigele Airport Road, extending from Wailevu Village Junction to Wailevu Solove Junction. Other impacted locations are Wailevu Solove, Gopis Minimart, Diagnostic and Specialist Medical Wailevu Centre, Tee Mariners Shop, and Smile Stores investment.

In Nasese, power will be unavailable from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, affecting numerous streets including Domain Road, Allardyce Road, Jackson Street, Mahatey Drive, Barton Place, Imthurn Road, and Seymour Drive. Key institutions like the Walesi Head Office and South Point Lodge will also be affected.

Savusavu will experience a power cut from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM in areas including Nacekoro and Tavulomo.

In Nadi, the shutdown is pegged from 9:00 AM until 4:30 PM, encompassing the entire Nawaka area, Nawaka Village, parts of Kerebula, and several roads and locations including Taci and Vatutu Village.

EFL is advising all residents to treat the power lines as live, as they may pose electrical hazards at any time.
