The Public Service Commission has announced that the appointment of Pita Wise as ‘Head of Mission’ in Japan has been withdrawn. This decision follows significant backlash from the Fiji Women’s Crisis Centre and the Fiji Women’s Rights Movement regarding his initial nomination.
Wise had previously resigned from his role as Permanent Secretary to the Prime Minister’s Office last month. He held the position since January of the previous year and had also served as Permanent Secretary in the earlier administration.
