Bula FC’s head coach, Stephane Auvary, is appealing to fans and supporters for patience as the team gears up to commence its inaugural OFC Pro League campaign next month. As Fiji’s first professional football club competing in the region’s top-tier league, Auvary acknowledges the need to manage expectations, emphasizing that immediate results should not be anticipated.
Building a competitive squad will take time, he points out, particularly as they will face several well-established and seasoned clubs in the tournament. “It’s a work in progress; they’ll have to be patient. We cannot just create a team from scratch and expect it to shine two or three months later. But we are going to do our best, the players and the staff, and we’re going to try to represent Fiji as best as we can,” Auvary stated.
The club’s focus for this season is geared towards development and gaining invaluable experience rather than seeking short-term victories. Auvary has urged supporters to continue their backing of the team, whether through periods of triumph or challenges. He reassured fans that the club aims to become fully competitive within three years, highlighting a long-term vision that promises growth and resilience for Bula FC.
With a commitment to improvement and a spirit of community, Bula FC’s future looks optimistic as it embarks on this exciting chapter in Fijian football.
