BA Rugby Union is excited to announce a two-year partnership with NewWorld IGA, enhancing its support for women’s rugby as the Ba Women’s Rugby team gears up for the Radani Cup competition in August. This collaboration marks a pivotal moment for the team, which has been developing since its establishment in 2022.

Luse Vula, Director of Women’s Rugby for Ba Rugby Union and a former Waratahs player, expressed her enthusiasm for the partnership. She emphasized that the financial backing from NewWorld IGA not only raises team morale but is also instrumental in their long-term development plans. “Having a respected company like NewWorld backing us feels like a dream; this is a huge moment for our team and for women’s rugby in Ba,” Vula stated.

Sameer Patel, who leads Merchandise & Wholesale at NewWorld IGA, shared his support for the initiative, highlighting the diverse and often underprivileged backgrounds of the players. He noted, “We are proud to support them as they continue to develop and compete.” This partnership is part of a broader effort by Ba Rugby Union to enhance the region’s rugby infrastructure, similar to past efforts in collaboration with Ba Industries Limited to improve team equipment.

The new partnership is not just about boosting the Ba Women’s Rugby team; it represents a significant step in promoting women’s sports in the community. The excitement surrounding this collaboration underlines a growing recognition of the vital support needed for women’s sports, which can foster community engagement and empowerment.

As the Ba Women’s Rugby team prepares for their upcoming competition with renewed energy and resources, optimism abounds regarding their potential contributions to the sport. This collaboration with NewWorld IGA promises to pave the way for major growth and achievements, not only for the team but also for women’s rugby in the region. The future is looking promising as they aim for success on the field and continue to inspire others in their community.
