The Speaker of Parliament, Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu, has stated that, following legal consultation, the new determination issued by Parliament in May has replaced the 2020 Determination under Section 11 of the Parliamentary Remuneration Act 2014. During a parliamentary session, Ratu Naiqama indicated that the 2020 Determination has been nullified and that the new 2024 Determination confirms that current salaries will be at 100 percent, effective from August 2024. He noted that Members of Parliament are now receiving full salaries.
