The Speaker of Parliament, Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu, has stated that legal advice confirms the new determination made by Parliament in May has replaced the 2020 Determination, in accordance with Section 11 of the Parliamentary Remuneration Act 2014. During a parliamentary session, Ratu Naiqama indicated that the 2020 Determination has been officially revoked, and according to the 2024 Determination, current salaries are set at 100 percent, effective from August 2024. He emphasized that all Members of Parliament are now receiving salaries at the full 100 percent rate.
