The nine crossbenchers of Parliament have chosen Ioane Naivalurua as their leader in Parliament.
Last Wednesday, the nine crossbenchers convened following a communication from the Office of the Speaker.
During this caucus meeting, they unanimously elected Naivalurua to lead them in Parliament.
Viliame Naupoto will serve as their Whip, and Alipate Nagata as the deputy Whip.
The members have also requested a separate office from the Speaker, and a decision on this matter is expected later.
The nine crossbenchers are Naupoto, Naivalurua, Nagata, Penioni Ravunawa, Mosese Bulitavu, Aliki Bia, Naisa Tuinaceva, Ratu Josaia Niudamu, and Taito Rokomatu.
