Parliamentary Pay Update: What You Need to Know

The Speaker of Parliament, Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu, has stated that, based on legal advice, the new determination made by Parliament in May follows Section 11 of the Parliamentary Remuneration Act 2014, thereby replacing the 2020 Determination. During a discussion in Parliament, Ratu Naiqama announced that the 2020 Determination has been formally revoked, and the new 2024 Determination confirms that current salaries will be set at 100 percent, effective from August 2024. He emphasized that all Members of Parliament are now classified at 100 percent.
