The Speaker of Parliament, Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu, announced that, based on legal advice, Section 11 of the Parliamentary Remuneration Act 2014 states that the new salary determination made by Parliament in May has replaced the 2020 Determination. In his remarks, Ratu Naiqama confirmed that the 2020 Determination has been officially revoked, and the new 2024 Determination confirms that current salaries are set at 100 percent, effective from August 2024. He highlighted that all Members of Parliament are now receiving 100 percent of their salaries.
