The Speaker of Parliament, Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu, announced that based on legal counsel, the new determination established by Parliament in May has overruled the 2020 Determination as per Section 11 of the Parliamentary Remuneration Act 2014. During a parliamentary session, Ratu Naiqama explained that the 2020 Determination has been effectively annulled, and the 2024 Determination confirms that the current salaries will be set at 100 percent, starting in August 2024. He emphasized that all Members of Parliament are now classified at this 100 percent salary level.
