Parliament will be prorogued until February 16, 2026, marking the end of the current session. During this prorogation period, all parliamentary activities, including sittings and committee proceedings related to bills, motions, and reports, will be temporarily halted, with the exception of urgent matters that receive approval from the Speaker.

The fourth and final session of Parliament is set to commence on February 16, 2026, at 10 am, and will be presided over by His Excellency the President, Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu. This significant event will be attended by notable figures, including Chief Justice Salesi Temo, Justices of Appeal, and other judges.

Following the State Opening, Parliament is scheduled to officially resume its sittings on March 9, 2026, where members will respond to the President’s Address among other parliamentary duties. This structured timeline provides a clear path for legislative activities and ensures that the democratic process remains robust and operational in the coming months.
