Independent Opposition Member of Parliament has expressed her disappointment with the reduction of speaking time from 20 to 15 minutes and the cut in Parliament sessions from two weeks to one week.
While responding to the 2024-2025 National Budget in Parliament, Kumar noted that, in the last 18 months, speaking time and the number of speakers have been reduced on crucial motions.
“This isn’t democracy, Mr. Speaker, Sir,” she said.
“This House belongs to the people, and they deserve sufficient time for us to debate and scrutinize important issues affecting them,” she stated.
