Paradise Beverages has contributed over $300,000 to the 2024-2025 Fiji Bitter Seven Series, demonstrating their ongoing support for grassroots rugby in Fiji. At the launch event, General Manager Mike Spencer emphasized the importance of sponsorships for the organization as a way to give back to local communities.
“We have supported rugby for 48 years, with our first sponsorship in the Fiji Bitter 7s back in 1976. We remain dedicated to fostering the growth of rugby in Fiji,” Spencer stated. He expressed pride in the company’s role in nurturing young talent, stating that many players who participated in Fiji Bitter-sponsored tournaments have gone on to represent Fiji in the 7s, the Flying Fijians, Fijiana, and the Fijian Drua franchise.
Spencer shared that the Fiji Bitter 7s series will feature 12 tournaments this season, consisting of six legs with two tournaments each, spanning from October to March. “I wish all tournament organizers, teams, and fans the best for this year’s Fiji Bitter 7s series,” he added.
Rovereto Nayacalevu, the Chief Executive Officer of the Fiji Rugby Union, remarked that the Fiji Bitter Seven Series is crucial for identifying new talent. “This creates pathways for players aspiring to join the sevens or fifteens teams,” he noted.
