The General Secretary of the People’s Alliance Party, Sila Balawa, announced that the party is currently assessing the situation of Lynda Tabuya, a party member and Member of Parliament, who was recently removed from her cabinet position following the dissemination of an explicit video online.
In response to this matter, the Party’s Executive Committee convened for more than two hours to deliberate on the next steps to take. A disciplinary committee has been established to carry out a comprehensive investigation within the next 21 days. This committee will also be responsible for providing a report to the party management based on its findings.
Importantly, Tabuya will have the opportunity to present her defense to the committee, ensuring that she can address the allegations directly. The six-member committee is dedicated to conducting the investigation in a manner that preserves the integrity and confidentiality of the process.
This situation underscores the importance of addressing internal conflicts with care and fairness. The investigation offers a chance for due process to be observed, reflecting a commitment to justice within the party structure.
Overall, this development serves as a reminder of the complexities that can arise in political environments and the significance of transparent procedures in addressing such issues.
