Fiji Bati fullback Sunia Turuva capped off his tenure with the Panthers in impressive fashion, scoring a try in last night’s match and helping his team defeat the Storm 14-6 to secure their fourth consecutive NRL title. Turuva, who is set to join the Wests Tigers next season, scored the opening try for the Panthers after the Storm took an early lead with a score from Harry Grant. Liam Martin then added to the Panthers’ tally with a well-timed pass from Nathan Cleary, diving over the try line to give Penrith a 10-6 advantage at halftime. In the second half, Penrith centre Paul Alamoti scored the only points with an unconverted try, keeping the excitement alive for over 80,000 fans in attendance.
