Tarun Padyachi delivered an exceptional performance this past weekend, winning the Coastal Rentals and Suites Tiv Sangam Champion of Champion snooker tournament held at the Sigatoka Club. His consistency and skill propelled him through each stage of the event, culminating in a flawless 3-0 victory over Vineel Nand in the final match.
The quarterfinals showcased intense competition, where Padyachi asserted his dominance with a decisive 3-0 win against Sashi Pillay. Vineel Nand also made his mark by defeating Manav Raj 3-1, while Kushal Krishna secured a narrow 3-2 victory over Kailash Goundar. Muni Sami impressed as well, overpowering Mukesh Chetty with another 3-0 score.
The semifinal round continued to impress, as Padyachi maintained his composure and skill, winning again with a clean 3-0 sweep against Muni Sami. On the opposing side, Vineel Nand showed resilience, overcoming Kushal Krishna with a score of 3-1 to reach the final.
In the anticipated championship match, Padyachi was in a league of his own. His impressive break-building skills and tactical acumen led to a decisive 3-0 defeat of Vineel Nand, securing him the title of Champion of Champion.
Tournament co-ordinator Anant Raj praised Padyachi’s remarkable performance and consistency throughout the competition, highlighting how he consistently rose to the occasion. Raj also commended all participants for their efforts, noting that the tournament maintained a high standard from beginning to end.
