Pacifica’s Call for Peace: PM Rabuka at Forum Leaders Meeting

Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka will advocate for the Pacific to be recognized as an ocean of peace during the upcoming Pacific Islands Forum Leaders Meeting in Tonga, which begins tomorrow. He made this statement while engaging with the Fijian community in Tonga last night.

He noted that such meetings often face scrutiny, with few acknowledging the achievements made, as the outcomes of discussions are not immediately visible. “The decisions that are made and the dialogues we have with various leaders take time to materialize,” he explained, emphasizing the importance of these meetings for the region and its people.

During the forum, Prime Minister Rabuka will also participate in a talanoa session with the diaspora, addressing issues that affect their community. The meeting, themed “Transformative Resilient Pasifiki: Build Better Now,” will take place from Monday to Friday.
