Pacific Tourism Expo 2025: A Growing Global Attraction

Pacific Tourism Expo 2025 Set to Shine with Record Participation!

The South Pacific Tourism Expo (SPTE) for 2025 is gearing up to be a landmark event, showcasing an encouraging rise in participation from tourism operators. With only a few months left until the expo, 78 buyers and 77 sellers have already signed up for the two-day event, which will take place on May 9 and 10, 2025, at the Crowne Plaza in Nadi, Fiji. This marks a notable increase from last year’s turnout of over 60 buyers and 70 sellers.

Christopher Cocker, CEO of the Pacific Tourism Organisation (SPTO), expressed optimism about the upcoming expo, reflecting on the success of the previous year’s event, which improved accessibility for member countries and partners from Australia and New Zealand. “Our annual aim is to reach around 80 registered stakeholders, and this year we’re very close,” Cocker noted.

International interest is growing, with registrations coming in from Europe, North America, and Asia. A significant rise in participation from Chinese tourism operators has also been observed, although South American representatives are notably absent from this year’s lineup.

Themed “Unity in Diversity: Exploring the Pacific’s Hidden Gems,” SPTE 2025 is expected to attract over 150 international visitors and serve as a vibrant platform for sellers from diverse Pacific island nations to display their travel and tourism products to a global audience.

Supported by sponsors like Fiji Airways and Rosie Holidays, the expo aims to promote sustainable tourism and foster valuable partnerships, all while celebrating and preserving the cultural heritage of the Pacific region.

The spike in registration numbers reflects a rejuvenated interest in Pacific tourism, suggesting a positive trajectory for growth and collaboration in the industry as it adapts in a post-pandemic world. The event not only focuses on business but also emphasizes cultural exchange and the building of long-lasting relationships among tourism stakeholders.

This promising turnout highlights the potential for a flourishing tourism landscape in the Pacific, showcasing a collective commitment to recovery, sustainability, and continued growth in the sector’s future.
