Smart farming is gaining momentum across the Pacific as Go Global AgriTech champions climate-resilient food production solutions. The company asserts that its innovative technology is pivotal in enhancing food security throughout the region.

In Fiji, approximately 90 percent of resorts have adopted Go Global AgriTech’s smart farming systems, which are also implemented in over 30 schools. These systems operate on more than 10 outer islands and underpin 20 projects led by various Non-Government Organizations (NGOs). The focus of these initiatives is on bolstering local food supplies and providing essential skills training, promoting community-led efforts to cultivate food closer to consumption points.

Beyond Fiji, Go Global AgriTech’s technology is making strides in Australia, Papua New Guinea, the Solomon Islands, Samoa, and Micronesia. The company emphasizes that these high-tech farming models demonstrate their effectiveness in the Pacific’s unique climates.

The scope of Go Global AgriTech’s initiatives extends beyond hydroponics, encompassing solar-powered systems, advanced irrigation techniques, coco peat media applications, and the cultivation of high-value crops. The company’s growth in the previous year received significant backing from several entities, including Investment Fiji, the Ministry of Agriculture, Tourism Fiji, the iTaukei Land Trust Board, and the European Union in the Pacific. Engagement from universities and private sector partners also played a crucial role.

As the year concluded, Go Global AgriTech experienced notable international interest, highlighted by visits from AgriTech leaders and specialists to its Western Fiji farm, along with delegates from 16 Pacific Island nations. This collective effort underlines hope for the future of sustainable food production in the region, as communities embrace innovative agricultural practices.
