Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka is set to advocate for the Pacific region to be recognized as an ocean of peace during the upcoming Pacific Islands Forum Leaders Meeting in Tonga, which begins tomorrow.

While addressing the Fijian diaspora in Tonga last night, he pointed out that these meetings often undergo significant scrutiny, with few recognizing their achievements due to the delayed visibility of their outcomes.

He emphasized, “The decisions that we make and the discussions we have with various leaders take time to materialize.” He added that these meetings are crucial as they have a profound impact on the nations and people of the region.

Additionally, Prime Minister Rabuka participated in a talanoa session with the diaspora and intends to bring forward issues affecting the community during the forum. The meeting, themed “Transformative Resilient Pasifiki: Build Better Now,” will take place from Monday to Friday.
