Since October 16, 2023, more than 2,000 students have successfully graduated from Pacific Polytech, where they earned national and micro qualifications across various campuses in Fiji. The impressive achievements were announced during a ceremony held at the Kshatriya Hall in Labasa by the founding director, Perri Taoi.

Mr. Taoi reported that 1,574 students achieved micro qualifications, while 878 received national qualifications. He also mentioned that an additional cohort of 700 students is scheduled to graduate early next year.

Emphasizing the institution’s commitment to high-quality, competency-based training, Mr. Taoi indicated that Pacific Polytech aims to prepare graduates to be not only job-ready but also future-oriented. The school is actively developing new programs in crucial sectors such as business, agriculture, ICT, hospitality, life skills, healthcare, and engineering.

Aimed at guiding young people away from societal issues like drug abuse, Mr. Taoi highlighted the institution’s mission to equip youths with practical skills and meaningful opportunities. “Our goal is to be a beacon of hope, offering young people a chance to build their lives with dignity, purpose, and ambition,” he stated. He believes that providing individuals with skills is essential to not just securing a job, but ensuring a prosperous future.

The chief guest, Minister for Justice Siromi Turaga, shared inspiring words with the graduates, emphasizing the importance of perseverance and self-determination. He remarked, “True excellence only comes with perseverance,” and encouraged them to take charge of their futures based on their actions, rather than external circumstances. He also praised the leadership and vision that founded Pacific Polytech in 2021.

This graduation ceremony highlights the growing educational opportunities in Fiji and the dedication to nurturing skilled professionals who can contribute meaningfully to society. With continued focus on competency-based training and industry-relevant skills, Pacific Polytech is paving the way for a bright and promising future for its graduates.
