Mr. Taoi indicated that an additional cohort of 700 students is expected to graduate early next year, showcasing the institution’s growing impact in the educational landscape. He emphasized Pacific Polytech’s commitment to providing high-quality, competency-based training, aimed at equipping graduates with the skills necessary to thrive in the job market and the challenges of the future. The institution is actively developing new programs in essential sectors such as business, agriculture, ICT, hospitality, life skills, healthcare, and engineering.
Moreover, Mr. Taoi noted that the mission of Pacific Polytech extends beyond employment; it seeks to guide youth away from societal issues, including substance abuse, by providing them with practical skills and meaningful opportunities. He expressed the vision of being a beacon of hope for young people, allowing them to build lives filled with dignity and ambition, stating that equipping individuals with skills not only offers them a job but also a brighter future.
Chief guest and Minister for Justice, Siromi Turaga, motivated the graduates with a powerful message about perseverance and self-determination. He underscored that true excellence stems from perseverance, emphasizing that one’s success is defined by personal actions rather than external circumstances. The minister also praised the institution’s leadership and faculty for their dedication to shaping a better future for the students.
This graduation marks a significant step forward in the continuous development of Fiji’s educational framework, suggesting a hopeful future where more youth are equipped with essential skills to help them navigate life’s challenges and contribute positively to society.
In summary, Pacific Polytech continues to flourish, demonstrating its commitment to fostering a skilled and resilient workforce in the region, which can adapt and innovate for future opportunities.
