The Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) Under-15 Development Tournament begins today in Auckland, New Zealand, featuring teams from nine Pacific nations, including the Cook Islands, Fiji, New Caledonia, Papua New Guinea, Tahiti, Tonga, Samoa, Solomon Islands, and Vanuatu. This annual event alternates between boys’ and girls’ competitions, with the last boys’ tournament held in 2023 and the girls’ tournament the previous year.

The Fijian team, coached by Marika Rodu, has already arrived in New Zealand and is set to face the Solomon Islands today at 3 PM and Vanuatu this Saturday. The tournament runs from April 15 to 23, 2025.

Notably, the Fijian squad has undergone rigorous training, narrowing a pool of 40 players down to 23, who have been preparing intensively. This dedication highlights the emphasis on youth development in Fiji’s football scene, showcasing the country’s commitment to nurturing young talent. With expectations set high, the young athletes are looking to leave a mark in the tournament.
