Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka is currently in New Caledonia for a three-day high-level mission, which is being led by the Chair of the Pacific Islands Forum, Prime Minister Hu’akavameiliku Siaosi Sovaleni of Tonga. The mission, taking place from October 27 to 29, gathers leaders from various Pacific nations, including Cook Islands Prime Minister Mark Brown and Solomon Islands Foreign Affairs and External Trade Minister Peter-Shanel Agovaka.

This visit is in accordance with the agreements made during the 53rd Pacific Islands Forum held in Tonga and is purely observational, as requested by the Government of New Caledonia. “We are here to respectfully observe and engage under agreed Terms of Reference, as endorsed by the French State, the Government of New Caledonia, and the Forum,” stated Rabuka.
