Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka is visiting New Caledonia for a three-day high-level mission, coordinated by Pacific Islands Forum Chair, Prime Minister Hu’akavameiliku Siaosi Sovaleni of Tonga. This mission, taking place from October 27 to 29, gathers leaders from various Pacific nations, including Cook Islands Prime Minister Mark Brown, Solomon Islands Foreign Affairs and External Trade Minister Peter-Shanel Agovaka, along with Rabuka.

The mission is a result of the resolutions made during the 53rd Pacific Islands Forum held in Tonga. The visit is observational, as requested by the Government of New Caledonia. Rabuka emphasized, “We are here to respectfully observe and engage under agreed Terms of Reference, as endorsed by the French State, the Government of New Caledonia, and the Forum.”
