The 53rd Pacific Islands Forum Leaders Meeting commenced this morning at the Tonga High School Indoor Stadium.
The opening ceremony, themed “Transformative Resilient Pasifiki: Build Better Now,” featured performances by the Queen Salote College band and the Combined Secondary School Choir.
Among those present at the ceremony was Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka.
Later, PM Rabuka is scheduled to hold one-on-one discussions with Papua New Guinea’s Prime Minister James Marape and Tongan Prime Minister Hu’akameiliku.
In the evening, he will participate in a welcoming reception at the Tonga High School Indoor Stadium following the Pacific ACP (PACP) Leaders conference.
