Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka is currently in New Caledonia for a three-day diplomatic mission, which is being led by the Chair of the Pacific Islands Forum, Prime Minister Hu’akavameiliku Siaosi Sovaleni of Tonga.
The mission, taking place from October 27 to 29, gathers leaders from the Pacific region, including Cook Islands Prime Minister Mark Brown and Solomon Islands Foreign Affairs and External Trade Minister Peter-Shanel Agovaka, along with Rabuka.
This visit, initiated by the leaders during the 53rd Pacific Islands Forum held in Tonga, is fundamentally observational, as per the request of the New Caledonian government.
Rabuka stated, “We are here to respectfully observe and engage under agreed Terms of Reference, as endorsed by the French State, the Government of New Caledonia, and the Forum.”
