Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka is visiting New Caledonia for a three-day high-level mission, which is being led by the Chair of the Pacific Islands Forum, Prime Minister Hu’akavameiliku Siaosi Sovaleni of Tonga. This mission, taking place from October 27 to 29, gathers leaders from various Pacific nations, including Cook Islands Prime Minister Mark Brown and Solomon Islands Foreign Affairs and External Trade Minister Peter-Shanel Agovaka.
This trip follows a mandate from the recent 53rd Pacific Islands Forum held in Tonga and is focused on observation, as requested by the Government of New Caledonia. Rabuka stated, “We are here to respectfully observe and engage under agreed Terms of Reference, as endorsed by the French State, the Government of New Caledonia, and the Forum.”
