Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka is currently in New Caledonia participating in a high-level mission that lasts three days and is being led by the Chair of the Pacific Islands Forum, Prime Minister Hu’akavameiliku Siaosi Sovaleni of Tonga.
This mission, scheduled from October 27 to 29, has brought together leaders from various Pacific nations, including Cook Islands Prime Minister Mark Brown and Solomon Islands Foreign Affairs and External Trade Minister Peter-Shanel Agovaka, along with Rabuka.
Following the mandate from their recent gathering at the 53rd Pacific Islands Forum in Tonga, this visit focuses on observational engagement, as requested by the New Caledonian Government.
Rabuka stated, “We are here to respectfully observe and engage under agreed Terms of Reference, as endorsed by the French State, the Government of New Caledonia, and the Forum.”
