Pacific Correctional Services Unite for Management Training Adventure

FNU launches Correctional Management Course

Five recruits from Tonga Correctional Services have recently joined a cohort of 64 participants from Fiji Corrections Services to embark on the inaugural Level 5 Certificate in Correctional Management course at Fiji National University. This new program was officially launched yesterday and aims to enhance the skills and capabilities of correctional officers throughout the Pacific region.

Over the next seven weeks, participants will delve into a curriculum that integrates both classroom learning and practical internships, ensuring that they gain valuable insights and experience in correctional management.

This initiative not only highlights a commitment to improving correctional practices in the Pacific but also fosters collaboration between neighboring countries in addressing prison management challenges. As the correctional landscape evolves, programs like these are essential for equipping officers with modern tools and knowledge, thereby enhancing safety and efficiency within correctional facilities.

This development points towards a brighter future in correctional services in the Pacific, with the potential for improved rehabilitation processes and reduced recidivism rates.
