Aviation ministers and stakeholders from various Pacific island nations are gathered in Suva for the Third Regional Aviation Ministers Meeting (RAMM3), hosted by Fiji. This significant event focuses on promoting collaboration in the aviation and transport sectors and aims to endorse three vital documents intended to steer the industry towards growth and sustainability.
The Pacific Aviation Safety Organisation (PASO) presented three fundamental documents:
1. The Pacific Regional Engagement Framework (PREF), designed to unify efforts in achieving common aviation goals through the involvement of multiple stakeholders.
2. The Pacific Regional Aviation Action Plan (PRAAP), a proactive strategy framework that ensures the effective realization of the Pacific Regional Aviation Strategy (PRAS).
3. The Suva Declaration on Strengthening Regional Partnership for Aviation Connectivity, which represents a united commitment from ministers to enhance a safe and resilient aviation network.
Viliame Gavoka, the Minister for Civil Aviation, emphasized the significance of bilateral discussions planned during RAMM3 with countries including Kiribati, Nauru, and Samoa. These meetings are essential for collaboratively tackling the challenges facing the aviation sector.
Key topics on the agenda include improving regional air connectivity, enhancing aviation safety standards, promoting sustainable practices, and strengthening cooperation among nations.
