A second video reportedly features the same man employing similar harsh tactics on a toddler.
As of yesterday evening, the original video garnered nearly 1,000 reactions and hundreds of comments on social media, with some individuals shockingly defending the abusive behavior. In response, law enforcement authorities are thoroughly investigating the situation, with commitments to ensuring justice for the affected children.
Sashi Kiran, Fiji’s Minister for Women, Children, and Social Protection, has denounced the incident, emphasizing her ministry’s collaboration with law enforcement in probing the matter further. She expressed her concern regarding the alarming increase of child abuse cases in Fiji, with statistics indicating that approximately 72% of children experience various forms of violence, including physical and emotional abuse.
Kiran highlighted the unfortunate reality that violent parenting methods frequently stem from an overly passionate commitment to education. She pointed out that such approaches can have long-lasting negative impacts on children’s learning experiences.
