John Orobulu from the Solomon Islands scored five goals as Rewa defeated Nadroga 7-0 in the opening Super Premier match of the 2024 FMF Inter District Championship (IDC) at Churchill Park in Lautoka today.
The Delta Tigers were dominant from the outset, with Orobulu netting his first goal in the 21st minute. He quickly extended the lead just four minutes later after a strong play with young talent Asivorosi Rabo. Rabo himself scored in the 30th minute, and midfielder Epeli Valevou added another goal shortly after, putting Rewa ahead 4-0 by halftime.
Orobulu continued his impressive display in the second half, scoring two additional goals in the 77th and 92nd minutes to complete the significant victory for Rewa.
The starting lineup for Rewa included Isikeli Sevanaia, Ivan Kumar, Leon Kofana, Patrick Joseph, John Orobulu, Madhwan Goundar, Tevita Waranaivalu (C), Epeli Valevou, Stanton Alick, Asivorosi Rabo, and Iowane Matanisiga.
For Nadroga, the starting team consisted of Sakeo Taganeca, Abhishek Ram, Nemani Lulusini, William Khan, Rusiate Matarerega, Semesa Sacere (C), Ravinesh Reddy, Taniela Raubula, Jone Railumu, Steward Toata, and Zoheb Rahim.
