Rewa forward John Orobulu had an exceptional outing, scoring five goals in a decisive 7-0 victory over Sigatoka Electric/Nadroga Auto Marine Upholstery Nadroga during the opening match of the FMF Inter-District Championship (IDC) at Churchill Park in Lautoka. His remarkable performance earned him the player of the match accolade.

The team, donned in red, secured their first three points of the tournament, establishing a solid 4-0 lead by halftime. Orobulu struck twice early in the match, followed by goals from Asivorosi Rabo and Epeli Valevou. In the second half, Rewa elevated their performance, with Orobulu completing his hat-trick.

Following the match, Orobulu attributed the victory to the collective effort and dedication of the team. “It was hard work and teamwork that awarded us our first win. Our plan for the next game is to keep working hard and take it one game at a time,” he said.

Nadroga’s head coach, Viliame Toma, acknowledged the commitment of his players despite the defeat, recognizing that Rewa simply outperformed them. “The boys gave their best; it was Rewa’s weather today, but we can’t complain. We just have to do our best in the next round,” he remarked.

Looking ahead, Nadroga is set to compete against Ba today at 4 pm, while Rewa will face Nadi at 6 pm.
