Opposition Member of Parliament, Jone Usamate, has publicly praised the former Prime Minister of Fiji, Voreqe Bainimarama, for his leadership and influential vision.
Usamate, a now de-registered representative of the FijiFirst party, posted a statement on social media echoing admiration for Bainimarama. He commended the former Prime Minister’s vision of a Fiji unmarred by religious intolerance, ethnic nationalism or ethnic differences.
Usamate stated that Bainimarama’s belief in acknowledging all citizens as “Fijian” is gaining traction among entities initially resistant to this idea of equality.
Highlighting Bainimarama’s accomplishments, Usamate described him as a steadfast leader, who persevered unwaveringly through challenging times and fiercely believed in his principles. He highlighted Bainimarama’s qualities as a decisive, brave family man who delivered on his promises.
Despite recent headlines about the deregistration of FijiFirst, Usamate took the chance to hail former Prime Minister Josaia Voreqe Bainimarama.
