A collaborative effort by the Police Mobile Force (PMF), Fiji Detector Dog Unit (FDDU), and the Divisional Operations Team resulted in the successful arrest of three individuals in Nadonumai for suspected illicit drug possession.
Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Livai Driu reported that this operation included two distinct raids in the area, during which authorities discovered substances believed to be marijuana, stolen electronics, and various tools allegedly used in drug packaging.
The arrested individuals have been taken to Lami Police Station, where they are being held as investigations continue. ACP Driu highlighted that the aim of increased enforcement during this holiday season is to disrupt criminal networks and escalate efforts against illegal activities through strategic operations.
He called on the community to support these initiatives by reporting any suspicious behavior, encouraging residents to reach out to Crime Stoppers at 919.
In addition to addressing public safety, this proactive approach demonstrates the police’s commitment to safeguarding communities, particularly during a time often associated with increased crime rates. The engagement of the public in monitoring and reporting can further amplify the effect of these operations, creating a united front against drug-related activities.
The ongoing efforts by law enforcement signify hope for safer neighborhoods, as they work diligently to combat the challenges posed by drug offenses.
