“Olympic Rugby Champions Arrive in France”

The Team Fiji men’s rugby sevens team received a warm welcome at their training base in Libourne, France, earlier this week.

The Mayor of Libourne, Philippe Buisson, expressed his pride and honor in hosting the defending Olympic Games gold medal champions in sevens rugby. He thanked the Fiji team for promoting the values of the sport to the city’s young people.

The squad, coached by Osea Kolinisau, will train in Libourne before moving to the Games Village as the men’s sevens competition at the Paris Olympic Games begins on July 24.

The competition will pause on July 26 for the official opening of the Olympic Games, with the finals resuming on July 27.

Today, the Fiji men’s rugby sevens team will spend an hour with the public at the Moueix Stadium.
