The Team Fiji men’s rugby sevens team received a warm welcome at their training base in Libourne, France, earlier this week.
Philippe Buisson, Mayor of Libourne, expressed his pride and honor in hosting the defending Olympic Games gold medal champions in sevens rugby. “I thank the Fiji team for promoting the values of this sport to our young people,” Buisson said.
Osea Kolinisau’s squad will remain in Libourne before relocating to the Games Village as the men’s sevens competition at the Paris Olympic Games begins on July 24.
The competition will pause on July 26 for the official Olympic Games opening, with the finals starting on July 27.
Today, the Fiji men’s rugby sevens team will spend an hour with the public at the Moueix Stadium.
