Olivia Dean has emerged as the UK’s new queen of pop, claiming four prestigious awards at the Brit Awards, which marked a historic shift as the ceremony took place in Manchester for the first time in nearly half a century.
Dean triumphed over fierce competition, including breakthrough act winner Lola Young, best rap act Dave, and best rock act Sam Fender, to secure the title of Best British Artist. Her debut album, *The Art of Loving*, garnered her the award for Best Album, while her collaboration with Sam Fender, *Rein Me In*, earned the accolade for Song of the Year.
Emotional and overwhelmed, Dean stated, “This album is just about love and loving each other in a world that feels loveless,” while expressing her disbelief at winning a Brit Award, stating, “I don’t know if I ever really thought I’d get one, but I did!” The 26-year-old expressed her joy by jumping at the winner’s podium, showcasing her enthusiasm and gratitude.
In addition to her awards, Dean treated the audience to a stunning performance of her song *Man I Need*. The event also featured standout performances from Harry Styles, Wolf Alice—who took home the Best Group award—pop sensation Raye, and Alex Warren, who played alongside a velveted James Blunt on piano. The show concluded with a heartfelt tribute to Ozzy Osbourne by Robbie Williams, who was joined by some of the legendary rock star’s former bandmates.
This celebration of music and artistry in Manchester not only highlights Dean’s rising stardom but also signifies a vibrant moment for the UK music scene.
