Old Scholars Unite for Fun and Games at ACS Sports Day!

Former students of Adi Cakobau School participated in an annual sports fun day, which took place at the Suva Grammar School indoor court yesterday. This event was part of the school’s birthday celebrations, bringing together women and girls of various ages who were divided into four teams representing their schoolhouses.

Ilisapeci Movono, the President of the ACS Old Girls, explained that the purpose of the event was to foster connections among the alumni. “This year we thought we’d have a sports day just to bring everybody together, give them a chance to meet each other, interact with each other and show us their talents and prowess,” Movono stated.

The day’s activities commenced with a Zumba session at 7 am, followed by various games including volleyball, a walking netball competition, tug of war, and card games to ensure inclusivity for older participants.

Movono indicated that the old scholars can expect another sports day next year, emphasizing the continuous enjoyment in these events. “For next year, the sports day will be planned for a certain time that is convenient for all of us,” she said. “We’re not sure what the plan is for next year but there definitely will be one, and we’re having fun.”

The day concluded with a dinner for the alumni at the Paradiso Restaurant in Albert Park, Suva, last night.
