Dr. Diva Singh, the president of the Ba Football Association, has expressed optimism following the recent OFC Pro League Managers Workshop, which focused on enhancing the organization of professional leagues in Fiji. Held at the Fiji FA Academy in Vatuwaqa, Suva, the workshop provided valuable insights into the current structure and organization of professional football leagues.

Dr. Singh highlighted that the workshop revealed significant gaps in achieving a more robust league structure. He emphasized the importance of establishing an organized system, stating that it would facilitate the effective management of clubs and districts. “Having this organized structure is the way forward and it really makes things easier in running the club and the district,” he noted.

Additionally, the workshop addressed the welfare of players, advocating for the implementation of comprehensive contracts, indemnity, and insurance. Dr. Singh believes that focusing on these areas will enable districts to better support their players and adhere to the league’s standards.

The event attracted top football district administrators, all eager to explore strategies for improving their teams’ participation in the OFC Professional League. This collaborative effort among stakeholders in Fijian football demonstrates a collective commitment to the sport’s growth and the well-being of its players, paving the way for future developments.

Overall, the workshop marks a significant step forward for Fijian football, instilling hope for a more structured and player-centered approach in the years to come.
