However, the Solomon Islands responded excellently, with captain Ileen Pegi scoring the equalizer in the 21st minute and Lorina Solosaia netting the winner before halftime. Despite both teams missing further chances in the second half, the Solomon Islands’ defense held firm, ensuring their first-ever appearance in the finals of the OFC Women’s Nations Cup.
