The OFC U-16 Women’s Championship is set to begin tomorrow at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva, featuring eight teams from the Oceania region competing for two spots in next year’s FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Morocco.

This championship is particularly significant due to the World Cup’s expansion to 24 teams and will be organized into two groups. Group A includes Fiji, Tonga, Cook Islands, and Samoa, while Group B comprises New Zealand, New Caledonia, Tahiti, and the Solomon Islands.

The tournament structure will culminate in exciting semi-finals on September 18, where the winners of Group A will face the runners-up of Group B and vice versa. The winners of these matches will not only secure their places at the World Cup but will also compete for the OFC U-16 Women’s Championship title in the final scheduled for September 21.
